Little Athletics on the Sunshine Coast's best track
Join the UniFamily on Friday nights at University of Sunshine Coast, Sippy Downs. Ages 3-17. All abilities welcome.

Athletics for every kid
We run Little Athletics at the University of the Sunshine Coast every Friday night from September to March. It’s about fun, trying your best, and being a part of the UniFamily community. You can sign up at any time.
Your child doesn’t need to be fast. They don’t need experience. They just need to show up and give it a go. We’ve got a professional track and qualified coaches who make every kid feel welcome.
We are fortunate to partner with renowned athletic coaches Nick Bennett, Madonna Reynolds and Lee Batchler who often volunteer on Friday nights.
Professional facilities
Kids can run on the eight and 10-lane synthetic track, and jump and throw for fun, in conditions set up for competition.
All abilities, all welcome
Everyone is welcome. From complete beginners to kids with special needs. UniFamily is a community that helps every athlete shine.
Convenient schedule
Our schedule suits families, with one night a week for fixed months each year. Our Friday night program runs from 5.45pm to 8pm September to March
What to expect with UniFamily
Each Friday night, kids rotate through different athletics events - sprints, distance running, hurdles, long jump, high jump, shot put, discus, and more. They're grouped by age, and everyone gets a turn at everything. Tiny Tots have a blast with fun, age adjusted activities.

We've been running since 2007
We’re affiliated with Little Athletics Queensland and Little Athletics Australia. That means we follow proper programs, have trained officials, and give kids real athletic development.
But here’s what really matters: we’re not intimidating. We’ve seen too many kids miss out on athletics because it looks too serious or too competitive. That’s not us.
The red track at USC makes it feel professional without being scary. The Friday night timing works for busy families. The pricing structure supports families with multiple kids. And the atmosphere is about encouragement, not pressure.

Questions families ask
Got a question? See some of our most frequently asked questions below.
Perfect, most kids haven’t. We teach them everything they need to know!
This is a common concern, and the answer is – it doesn’t matter. This isn’t about being the fastest. It’s about trying your best, learning new skills, having fun and improving over time.
We appreciate volunteers because we’re a community club, but we’ll talk you through what’s involved. There is no drop and go. You can help age marshal, measure events, record results, help at the start and finish line or dish up food in the canteen.
Black shorts or black bike pants without logos. Water bottle, and a positive attitude. We do have uniforms t-shirts, singlets and crop tops which can be purchased at any time via our official club app.
Yes you can! We run an open day for kids to come along and give it try. Alternatively during our season you are always welcome to come down on a Friday night and see how it works.
